What makes [ZG] Community servers different from others?

It is without a doubt our player community!  The Zombie Gaming [ZG] community has great players and great admins.  We leverage a wide variety of sourcemod plugins that enable a self governing environment (as much as possible).  These plugins include, team kill (TK) manager, anti-flood/hack, anti-mic spam, rock the vote (RTV), map nomination, and kick/ban player voting.   [ZG] employs Sourcebans and VAC Bans to track and manage banned players.  We have enhancement plugins to help support the admins who are managing our servers. We also leverage various ranking sourcemod plugins to rank our players.  Our server admins are fun to play with.  They take their job serious and strive to keep gameplay moving by being swift and fair.  Ultimately, we try to do our best to resolve any issues in order to make this server an enjoyable experience. Our goal is to provide better tools for collaboration to make your Zombie Gaming experience the best one!

  2. Delete the ClientRegistry.blob file located in your Steam Directory
  3. Run Steam.exe

If fix option number 1 does not work, then try fix option number 2 (below): Fix Option Number 2:  Delete config folder in the main steam folder:

Maps & Mapping Questions

How do I make a map?

By using the application Hammer, you can make your own Valve Source map.  The tutorial can be found here: Hammer Setup Tutorial Valve Developer Wiki

When trying to connect to steam game, I get an error saying "missing map"?

In the event that you receive a message when about to connect to a steam server such as missing map, you most likely have a half-downloaded or corrupted map in your map folder inventory.  Most source engine based servers should automatically allow for the map to be downloaded if it is missing from the player’s game file. The fix for this error message is to remove that map completely from your game/maps folder.  Once this map has been completely removed, a new map will be automatically downloaded from the game server upon initial login.  Navigate to the following folder on the drive where you have the steam game installed: For Contagion C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ContagionBeta\contagion\maps For No More Room in Hell C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\nmrih\nmrih\maps For Zombie Panic! Source C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Source SDK Base 2007\zps\maps

Where can I find maps for my favorite games?

There is a wide variety of sources to find new maps.  For source engine based games, looking at the website forums or fan based websites with forums that address custom maps is a great start.  Some other places you can consider: Gamebanana Gamemaps Left 4 Dead Map Database
